I’m sure everybody has experienced this
phenomenon at one time or another; you know the
sort of thing, when you’re reminded, in
an inexplicable cluster of reminders, about a
particular event that you haven’t thought
of in years. Mere coincidence? (Digression warning).
Or is it all somehow related to that inscrutable
but utterly fascinating announcement by the Chinese
recently about their successful experiment involving
a satellite, (named Micius¹) in which particles
1200 kilometres apart were ‘entangled’,
which apparently allows the instant teleporting
of information between the two quantum entangled
photons. (Just to pursue this for a little bit,
this might explain how species of birds, as mentioned
by Stephen Fry on QI, adopt identical behaviours
simultaneously whilst being thousands of kilometres
apart, not to mention innumerable other events
explained away as coincidental by scientists,
or proof of the existence of God by the less scientific).
Recently I’ve been approached by a whole
two writers / researchers for interviews about
my glorious past because of its entanglement with
others’ equally or perhaps more equally
illustrious careers. The rock magician Geof (Geoff,
Jeff or Jef) Crozier (Krozier) seems to be a common
factor, although a less common common factor would
be hard to imagine.

devoted to Geof (the Geof with one ‘f’
spelling now established as the actual spelling)

Flying the flag
With
so many options to choose from in the field of
comedy I thought that I might just have a minor
ramble around the recent issues of Parliamentarians
with dual citizenship.
It has suddenly become evident that, even through
oversight, ignorance, or stupidity that MPs cannot
have dual citizenship as the Australian Constitution,
written and promulgated in 1901, says in Section
44
Any person who: .. is under any acknowledgment
of allegiance, obedience, or adherence to a foreign
power, or is a subject or a citizen or entitled
to the rights or privileges of a subject or a
citizen of a foreign power…. shall be incapable
of being chosen or of sitting as a senator or
a member of the House of Representatives.
The question for the current cases of dual citizenship
is whether our Senators acknowledged their allegiance
to a foreign power though I am using the term
allegiance in a very broad sense here. Two Senators,
