A macchiatio plus heart motif - addiction can kill you.. |

Addiction
I suspect I have an addictive personality.
At the moment my addiction’s Gingernut
biscuits, (always accompanied by a cup of
tea to dunk them in), which means I’m
going through about one and a half packets
a week. I’ve been through a Butternut
Snap biscuit phase recently too, provoked
by Spectrum’s last tour to South Australia
where the water still manages to spoil the
taste of the obligatory tea-bag cups of
tea.
The almond nuts phase (more recently supplemented
by walnuts) lasted for quite a number of
years - that is until they were implicated
in upsetting my vocal cords, which, I have
to admit, are getting more delicate as I
get older.
Well, the culprits in the vocal cords’
affair may’ve been the nuts, but now
I’m also suspicious of the dried dates,
so they’re now on my banned list too.
Addiction, even soft-core addiction, comes

There are a number of repeat offenders that

Dick's
Toolbox - A progress report
Perhaps a progress
report is in order. Firstly the art work
which I so confidently and expensively started
some time ago as part of a major decision
to move to a totally digital world has not
moved with the expected speed. Let me be
honest and say that progress has, in fact,
been extraordinarily slow, partly because
the learning curve has been much steeper
than I thought. But more honestly because
of my own inertia which I would like to
blame on a genetic inheritance but really
is just prevarication and diversion on a
large, but totally individual, scale. Mea
culpa.
A reminder of the story so far: I destroyed,
in a fit of whimsical stupidity, all of
my paintings that weren’t on a wall
or in the possession of other people. I
think that I have described the moment as
a hissy fit which is not far from the truth.
The canvases, which were generally pretty
large, went either.. read
