MISS HAVACHAT
Children’s book aims for global market
On Friday 23 May a new children’s book will be launched in suburban Melbourne. Developed by a global, virtual team comprising the author and illustrator, IT programmers and a digital print house, Miss Havachat is part of a growing revolution in children’s educational books.
Only available online, Miss Havachat is a story book, picture book and early reader. Written by Peter Barber, and illustrated by Lara Cameron, Miss Havachat is a book for the digital generation with old world charm.
Miss Havachat is the universally recognisable three to six year old girl. She’s constantly curious, full of questions and combines innocence with delightful insights.
Using the latest programming techniques the book can be personalised for each child. Selecting Miss Havachat’s name, age, hair colour, friend and who she chats to personalises over 100 variable data points through the text making each book unique. The book will be printed using the latest four-colour digital print technology and posted anywhere in the world.
The launch will feature a performance by Mike Rudd from the legendary 70s band, Spectrum. Mike wrote and performs the Miss Havachat song, ‘Excuse Me Are You Listening to Me? The song is available as a free download with each book ordered. Also included with every book will be a card and wrapping paper making it the complete gift package.
The Mayor of Darebin, Cr Peter Stephenson will launch Miss Havachat during Story Time.
