School stuff
21.11.07 - Funny thing, Life. Keeps throwing
things at you in bursts that make you think old Carl Jung had
something pegged with his synchronicity business. When in Christchurch
I naturally stay with old Art School mate Tony Brittenden (pic
1), (I can see this is going to be a long story), but I
also ran into another Art school mate in |
Auckland in the undeniable shape
of Bret de Thier, (pic 2), who would've made a perfect
Strider in the the Lord of the Rings series now that I think
of it. More to follow when I can get a moment.. |

Ian
McCausland and The Last Supper 3.11.07
- I can belatedly report that I took Chris out to the wilds
of Glenroy last Sunday, which was an uncomfortably hot and windy
day, so as to view Ian's response to the Breathing Space
album's unexpected transformation into four EPs. I demanded
cups of tea for the weary travellers, and Ian generously, but
perhaps unwisely in retrospect, proferred his stash of biscuits
as a supplement. While Ian left the room briefly, Chris proceeded
to quietly and efficiently demolish all the pillow biscuits,
so when Ian returned the biscuit tin had only a couple of forlorn
ginger biscuits left. The gentleman that he is, Ian took this
development in his stride and proceeded to show me his artful
solution to the cover problem, before playing me some of his
self-penned demos, which I was quite taken with.
The second shot shows Bill holding forth while the Cools and
crew were trying to eat their evening meals. He's scarily reminding
me more and more of his dad, Hector.. |
