The imposing facade of the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery beckons..
M&M go to see the Archibald
12.11.15 -
We really wanted to go up to Ballarat by train, but it looked like today was the last chance we had to see the Archibald as it's being taken down on Sunday and as we had some time constraints we elected to drive up.
Neither of us had been to the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery before but we found it OK (pic) and toddled in. There were masses of people there but we took our time and managed to see nearly everything.
Afterwards we took lunch at a little place further down Lydiard North St and thoroughly enjoyed that as well. A very civilised day all told.

Happy 60th Birthday to Broc!

1) Broc greets us before the load-in 2) Keaton is escorted from the stage by his personal roadie

3) Broc and Peter Newson harmonise 4) Broc summons up a mighty wind for the candles
Broc does the right thing with a little help..
9.11.15 - We ended up getting to the Two Brookes Bar on the outskirts of Broc's stomping ground in Seville a bit early, but it made for a more relaxed load-in. Yes, load-in - Broc insisted we set up the PA so that Spectrum and a host of other performers could play a few songs and give him something interesting to do for his 60th birthday. It was fun too but when the time came to go home and load everything out again it just felt like the end any other gig.
Keaton starred (again) and enjoyed the whole experience to the point he didn't want to stop (pic 2) and Rob MacKenzie prowled around moodily but resisted picking up a guitar all afternoon. Maybe he's got another theory? Ross Ryan (who recently announced his retirement - again) was another of the afternoon's notable non-performers, but just about everybody else had a go. Broc's former bassist buddy Peter Marshall did the roasting honours and it was good to catch up with Broc's sisters Karin and Dee - and Kathleen and Astrid and everybody else who was there for that matter.
