In Box Hill for my bumoscopy
Arsehole inspected in Box Hill Hospital
17.8.15 - It's not all that's happened in Crudd's World of course, but because it happened just today it's fresh in my mind. Funnily enough, it seems nearly everybody that I'd spoken to about my upcoming colonoscopy had had the procedure done - some more than once, which makes me wonder if it's addictive. Despite being common however, the procedure is not much talked about on social occasions, which is a shame because it would be helpful to the colonoscopy novice to know some of the pitfalls in advance.
Anyway, maybe that's something for another conversation. In other news, last week I received intelligence that my cousin, Tom Gentles, was back in town for another natter with his fellow medicos at the Convention Centre, so I managed to find time on Friday to meet with him over a beer and, amongst other things, heard the latest scuttlebutt about my dad's situation back in Rotorua.

Alan Howe & David Geraghty take me close to the edge
The last nine acres..
14.8.15 - In the mood to buy a piece of Aussie rock history? The last nine acres of George Duncan's farm in Diggers Rest, the bit by Jacksons Creek that cradled the cream of Australian rock music in its halcyon years and that will be forever remembered as just 'Sunbury' (mate), is for sale..
Alan Howe's written a piece about it for The Australaian and invited me up to his place yesterday (Thurs.) to pose for a photo on or near the original site.
Alan and photographer David Geraghty (pic) placed me on a rock overlooking the site (best place to be really) and took a series of pics in changeable light and weather conditions. I'll let you know when it's up.

We saw a very intense rainbow on the way home - nice!
Somewhere, under the rainbow..
10.8.15 - Today we popped down to the NGV with the Cafarellas to take in a small selection of Catherine the Great's Hermitage collection that's touring here at the moment. Maria's been to the real deal in St Petersburg but was still interested to see what they'd brought out and how they're presenting it. We opted for the free guided tour, something I've avoided doing in the past, but as I have very little by way of knowledge about the life and times of Catherine I thought it might be valuable.
It was interesting too, but overall it was a patchy collection with some interesting works by some great masters and some indifferent stuff as well.

1) Bill's grave with rose 2) Rosemary, me, Pat and Maria at Strathie honouring Bill's memory
Bill's second anniversary
8.8.15 - Yesterday (Friday) was the second anniversary of Bill's death. Bill's sister Pat came over to our place and we drove up to see Rosemary at her property in Strathewen together and had a quiet reflection on the life and times of Bill.

1) Mike with Di and Richard Hauser 2) Rising star Keaton Robertson and silly Uncle Mikey
Two days in August - a French lunch and a Today Show star visits
4.8.15 - M and I met up with Di and Richard Hauser (pic 1) at À la Boufe on Sunday having discovered after we booked that the set price menu doesn't apply on the weekend. Bugger. We had a very nice meal nevertheless and I was able to help defray my expenses somewhat with the $50 restaurant card I got on my birthday. Hooray! The Hausers hadn't been able to attend my birthday due to ill health so this was by way of making up - as well as thanking them for the kind invitations to their Christmas functions.
Last night we had a visit from the FAMOUS Keaton Robertson (pic 2) and he and I had a drum-on-the-cushions battle followed by a stint on the yidaki (didge) and clap sticks. Sounds like fun don't it? That's what happens when a really-truly celebrity visits your place..
