Mark and Waki Castles plus Cameron
and Emma |
Kneedeep
in Castles
29.8.14 - Tuesday - and I was tinkering
on the PC when Maria grabbed me and led me outside
with strict instructions for me to keep my eyes
closed. After I'd blundered into the hand trolley
(which I'd been using to ferry junk onto the nature
strip for the hard rubbish collection) I opened
my eyes to find Waki standing in front of me! 'Are
you really surprised?' she demanded to know. Yes
Waki, I was surprised.
Here's the pic Maria took of Waki, Mark and their
children Cameron and Emma just before they jumped
into the car and headed back to Tassie on the ferry.
I saw Waki at Bill's Last Gig last August and hadn't
seen her for years before that, so meeting the kids
was a revelation. |

James
tries a free-form experiment with Bill's air guitar |
I
think Bill would be very pleased..
3.8.14 - It was Rosemary who
drew my attention to the fact that the anniversary
of Bill's death was imminent, which was when I realised
that I should get a move on and dispose of some
of Bill's treasures while his memory was still fresh
in people's minds. The Ramsays have been Spectrumites
for yonks now and the story of Stephen and Sarah's
young son James dancing to Spectrum on the tabletops
in the Birregurra pub had become part of band folklore,
so it was with some delight that I read Steve's
e-mail about James (pic) seeing Bill's
Yammy guitars up for sale and wanting to buy them.
Bill had a soft spot for James so he'll be pleased
that the Yammys have gone to a good home. |
