Ted's 50th
27.7.14 -
We were both coming off throaty, chesty things, so Maria and I weren't certain if we were going to show up at all until we actually left home - and then difficulty finding visible street numbers in downtown Northcote nearly thwarted us again, but eventually we made it to Ted Lethborg's 50th birthday.
We left early too, but not before having some nice chats with Bren Mason and Ian and Mandy McFarlane and being plied with vodka, lime and soda by that irrepressible plier, Dom Barbuto..

1) Keaton and dad meet Betsy 2) That's better! Get back in yer box Betsy!
Keaton turns two!
24.7.14 - I noticed Keaton's birthday was on Sunday so we rang the Robbos and sang Happy Birthday a couple of times. We couldn't get over on the day so dropped in on Monday and gave Keaton Betsy the bouncing cow. In return we got quite a bit of chat and a couple of drum solos!
I gave Keaton a couple of demos on Betsy but he was a little cautious of riding bareback and decided he preferred to sit on the box. (pic 2)

The arty crowd sips on wine and chats and chats..
Stewart MacFarlane's back in town
9.7.13 -
We're not invited to many art exhibition openings, but one that does come up with some sort of regularity is the prolific Stewart MacFarlane's shows. If you've been in town lately you might've even seen the billboard on Johnston St advertising the show, which must be some sort of coup for an exhibition of this scale. Anyway, I really like Stewart's work and I'd own one if I had the dosh. I had a word to the artist early on as he eschewed making a welcoming speech this time saying, 'After all, a picture's worth a thousand words' so I immediately offered him a thousand of my own words as payment. Mind you, I understood when he declined my offer - my words would have to be valued at between eighteen and forty-five dollars each..
