25.2.14 - Things have been
moving apace for the past month with trips abroad
and interstate providing an element of dislocation
to proceedings. The principal offender was our foray
to NZ and I've yet to present one pic let alone
any personal reflections on this trip. I'll get
to it eventually.
Before we took off for Canberra last week, Maria
and I tootled over to the Pearl Oyster in Preston
to meet up with former Art School mates, Bret de
Thier and Dr Wazz Sellers, who is already well known
to you, of course. (pic 1) We missed out
on seeing Bret in situ when we were in
Christchurch, so it was great we could catch up
with him, albeit briefly, on his visit to Melbourne.
I've had my eye on the resonator guitar ornamenting
Maria's |
fireplace for some time
now, so I'm a very happy chappy to have it accompany
us back to Melbourne. (pic 2) Now to learn
how to play it.. We spent quite some time with Maria's
family while we were in Canberra but we also managed
to catch up with the Greaggs one night for a meal
(pic 3) which was a lot of fun too.
Last Sunday we decided to take Chris to Healesville
Sanctuary (pic 4) and finished the day
meeting the Sellers' at 1061 Woodfired Pizza where
Maria drew a blind contour sketch of me on the table
paper for fun. (pic 5) |
