The bits of stuff that fall in the cracks between Life, Music and Outrageous Fortune.

1) Let there be light - Geoff the lightgiver 2) Geoff and Liz enjoy the moment far too much..3) What is it with the bunnies?
Rick's 30th - yummy lasagna to take home..
27.5.13 - What do you buy someone who doesn't get to bed until 5.00am and has unfathomable musical tastes? Another JB gift card, that's what - and a birthday card saying, Thirty - it's all a big joke till it happens to you. Chris and I desperately tried to be fashionably late but were still amongst the first to arrive at Casa Cafarella, whereupon Chris plonked himself down on a chair and allowed me to drip-feed him beer and cheese crackers for the remainder of the afternoon, (thankfully managing not to regurgitate anything), as my more chronologically gifted relatives and Rick's group of young friends arrived. Geoff distinguished himself by bringing a replacement light tube for the kitchen from the shop (pic 1) and fitting it without doing any damage to it or himself in the process.
Given my recent encounter with an escapee bunny I was intrigued to find Flops (pic 3) fenced in on the back lawn. She seemed quite unfazed by the attention of people (including children) and lent some credence to Rick and Renée's claim that a rabbit makes quite an interesting pet.
The much-discussed (in The Age re' her project The Happiness, The Heartache) Lulu McClatchy (and Molly) were there and I told her we were planning to see her movie The Sunset Six - and today Chris and I duly drove down to Cinema Nova and did just that. It's only on for a few more days, (although the good news is that they've extended the initial season already), so if a feel-good, home-baked pop music movie fits in your cultural menu I recommend you go to see it ASAP.

4) The vista of Rick's 30th shebang. Chris and I left early but not without a sample of Aunty Margaret's lasagna..

A frantic weekend
21.5.13 -
It's all relative of course, but my niece Danielle and her steady Mario celebrated their engagement on Saturday night and so we picked up Chris and headed for north Croydon and celebrated. (pic 1) Maria left for home the next morning so it was just me at Chris Kay's place (pic 2) sharing a delicious Chris Kay casserole with Geoff and Anthea.

1) Maria, Dick and Mary at the Tassie show restaurant Pure South 2) I had the lamb and we shared a Tassie pinot

3) The Drs Sellers laugh it up at Jimmy Watsons
Mike's separate reality goes into overdrive
16.5.13 -
If you've been turning to this page lately you'd be forgiven for thinking that either not much has been happening or that so much has been happening that there's not been sufficient time to record it. Happily it's the latter proposition. Last month I visited Maria in Canberra for a few happy days and now Maria is on a return visit here in Mt Waverley. We had a lovely meal at Pure South last Friday with Dick and Mary, (pic 1) we took Chris to see Iron Man 3 on Monday and yesterday met up with the Drs Sellers for lunch at Jimmy Watsons. (pic 3) We went to Readings and Maria asked if they had any CDs by the young Aussie lyric soprano Siobhan Stagg. The helpful assistant rifled through her cards and asked 'Hymne?' 'No' Maria replied before I could, 'it's a her'.
