November
The bits of stuff that fall in the cracks between Life, Music and Outrageous Fortune.

1) Bernd Rohrmann welcomes the other six psychos 2) Howie Belling packs up - again
My wacky night out
24.11.12 - Bernd Rohrmann's condolence function at St Ann's on Rathdowne St was on the same day I shared an exemplary luncheon with Maria at the Carlton Wine Room and so suffered by comparison. Mind you, The Wine Room didn't have entertainment and St Ann's managed to squeeze in The Howie Belling Trio. (pic)

Some kind of genius recognised
19.11.12 - I've finally got a new scanner - but that's another story - so I can belatedly (word of the week) broadcast the news that I got a lovely card from the RocKwiz crew in the mail last Friday, (pic) which evoked a wave of instant nostalgia.
In other news, you might've noticed that there are a couple bookings for Mike the solo artist, (not forgetting George Martin, of course), coming up in the New Year, beginning with an appearance at (the) Vesbar Wine Lounge in Somerville. (See the Gigs page). Hopefully these will take up some of the slack between Spectrum gigs at the start of the 2013.

Doug and Terry tuck into lunch with a deal of haste
More culture comes my way
11.11.12 -
Before we left for the gig last night I got a call from bro' Dick asking if I'd be interested in attending another ACO concert at the new Hamer Hall. I suspected that I mightn't be feeling 100% but accepted the invitation gladly. We met at the Blue Train and because I'd arrived early we managed to secure a table on the balcony - by then I was equipped with an evil-looking Bloody Mary. Dick and Mary's and my meals arrived promptly, but Doug and Terry's must've got stuck at the station and didn't arrive till we'd almost finished eating ours - and that was mainly due to Mary's diligent prodding. We practically ran into the last few yards into Hamer Hall, but we made it OK and enjoyed the concert - and I enjoyed the reconfigured acoustics too.
